Forest School is all about learning outdoors; a classroom without walls where the learning never stops! Come rain or shine the children are encouraged to learn about their beautiful, natural environment, where their natural curiosity and initiative to solve problems develops, where their self-confidence increases and in turn, the smiles on their faces get bigger and bigger.
Coming to a session includes making and building dens, making fires and drinking hot chocolate over the delightfully warm fire with friends. What’s more, jumping through the muddy puddles will bring even more joy (because we all know how much delight a muddy puddle can bring!)
An experienced Forest School Level 3 practitioner leads the sessions here at Children’s House Nursery.
From the sessions we have run already, the response has been overwhelming with lots of positive feedback from parents.
Do you think your child would benefit from having outdoor learning as part of their weekly nursery life?
At Children’s House Nursery we have always valued outdoor learning and the positive effect it has on child development; our large garden and vegetable patch, mud kitchen, greenhouse and builder’s yard are all used daily.
Now with the introduction of our Forest School sessions, it brings a whole new level of fun, adventure and learning. We will continue to take trips to the Southwell trail, the swan sanctuary and the local parks but with Forest Schools, there is a whole new adventure waiting for us.
